| Scat
Records is an independent label that was spawned in Cleveland in
1989 and is presently located in St. Louis, Missouri. Scat does
not specialize in any particular kind of music, beyond the good
kind. I like artists with vision, natural talent and expressive
ability playing in a basically rock context. Timeless rock albums
are the goal. Wholesale inquiries should be directed to my distributor,
Revolver
USA. Other matters can be addressed to scatrecords (at) gmail
(dot) com.
This site is
a good place to buy, hear or read about Finn's Motel, Yellow #5,
Electric Eels, Mirrors, Styrenes, the Mice and/or Bill Fox, Prisonshake, Guided
By Voices, Cobra Verde, Speaking Canaries, Nothing Painted Blue,
My Dad Is Dead, Pufftube and many others. Single LPs and CDs are
generally $10 or $12 and shipping starts at $2.75. Click the store
link at left to enter the secure online shop. Mastercard/Visa, paypal,
and payments by mail are all welcome. All the non-analog parts of
the Scat catalog are also available at iTunes, Amazon,
eMusic and others if you rock that way.

The reissue
of Bill Fox's Shelter from the Smoke is well into the production phase, and the
likely street date for the CD is October 20th. Double vinyl will follow a few
weeks later. Once I'm a little more confident that the date is firm I will set
up a preorder link, so stay tuned for that as well as more detail. I started
talking this up a bit more than a year ago, but as you may have noticed, the
music industry and economy in general are a bit of a mess these days. The past
year has been frought with many personal and technical challenges as well (this
update was done in Notepad, heh). Point
being, I regret that it has taken so long to get this rolling, but am also happy
that it is happening at all. If all goes well, Transit Byzantium
will follow next year.
My old
buddy Tom Dark has released a solo CD culled from newer recordings as well as
a few unreleased tracks from his various groups over the decades. Check it here.

"As
